Therapy for Therapists in Bainbridge Island & Washington State

For Women Therapists Who Hold Space All Day and Could Use Some of Their Own

You're very good at this

You can sit with someone's grief, rage, and Tuesday afternoon panic attack without flinching. You've recommended therapy to half the people you know.

And yet, here you are, reading a therapist's website at whatever hour this is.

Maybe the work is costing more than it gives back. Maybe your own life wants attention, and you've been busy attending to everyone else's. You already know the speech about therapists needing therapists. You've probably given it.

Is This What You're Dealing With?

  • Burnout, empathy fatigue, or feeling numb and short-tempered after sessions

  • Secondary traumatic stress from carrying your clients' hardest stories

  • Certain clients living rent-free in your head

  • Overfunctioning for clients: extra sessions, late-night emails, fees you keep not raising

  • Guilt about wanting fewer clients, more time off, or different work entirely

  • Wanting a practice that fits your life, with no clear map for getting there

  • Struggling to switch off "therapist mode" at home

  • Midlife shifts, relationship strain, or family dynamics you understand perfectly and still get pulled into

  • Knowing all the skills and finding it surprisingly hard to use them on yourself

What we focus on

  • Building the confidence to shape a career and business around your values and needs

  • Making room for the emotional weight of the work, so it moves through you without piling up

  • Setting boundaries with clients, colleagues, and your inner overachiever

  • Unhooking from self-criticism and the "good therapist" rules you never agreed to

  • Reconnecting with the parts of you that have nothing to do with being a therapist

How I work

I work primarily from ACT and mindfulness, informed by psychodynamic theory, attachment theory, neuroscience, and feminist theory. I care most about what creates real change, whether that means changing your life or changing how you relate to yourself.

We can look at the past a lot or a little, with plenty of focus on the present. I'm behavioral and relational, I lean direct, and I don't move at a snail's pace. Nobody gets "mm-hmm'd" for fifty minutes.

I don't offer case consultation. We will look at how specific clients are affecting you and your work, which tends to be more useful than a traditional consult anyway.

A place of your own

So much of your week is organized around other people. This hour is organized around you. It's a steady place to come back to, week after week, where you get to be the client. No notes, no treatment plan, nobody to hold space for but yourself.

Sessions are 50 or 75 minutes, weekly or every other week.

What begins to change

You notice the pull to overfunction and get to choose what you do with it. Hard sessions still happen. They follow you home less often.

You set fees and boundaries with more clarity and less guilt. You make career decisions based on what matters to you, including the ones that mean doing less.

The work still matters to you. Now you get to matter in it, too.

Let's work together
